- Our private beach sailing and snorkeling tour

This is a great tour for groups and families to see the Northern Pacific Coast from the water.  You will charter a private sail boat and cruise north towards the beautiful white sand beach of Playa de Huevos where you can relax in beach chairs, explore the caves on the beach or snorkel in search of tropical fish.  This tour is an all day tour and includes a beach lunch provided by Villa Buena Onda and its staff.

- Sport fishing

The Northern Pacific Coast of Costa Rica offers some great in-shore and off-shore fishing.  You can fish in-shore for Rooster Fish, Mahi Mahi, Snapper, Grouper and many other in-shore fish.  If you are looking for the big fish then off-shore fishing is a must.  The shelf is about 20 miles from shore and once you get out there you can enjoy such catches as Sailfish, Marlin, Tuna, Wahoo and some big Mahi Mahi.  We have numerous boats available for different group sizes from 24ft to 50ft.

- Canopy zip lines

Join us on Costa Rica’s signature adventure tour as you play Tarzan and Jane on the canopy zip line tour.  You will be strapped into a harness and then zip from one tree canopy to another while enjoying wildlife sights and the views all around you.  This is a must for any visitor to Costa Rica!!

- River Float Trips

If you want to see some of the beautiful wildlife that Costa Rica has to offer you usually need to be by the water’s edge.  This tour is a tour of the Palo Verde National Park which is one of the most important and interesting National Parks in Costa Rica. It has at least 12 different habitats within the park including: mangroves, swamps, swamps forests, saltwater and freshwater lagoons and marshes.  You will see such wildlife as howler monkeys, green iguanas and coatis, anteaters and crocodiles. The park provides shelter for a great variety of birds such as the American Woodstock, the Roseate Spoonbill, the Boat-billed Heron, the Tiger Heron and the Tropical Kingbird.  The tour usually last around 6 hours.

- Scuba Diving

Costa Rica is famed for its big fish diving and in Guancaste the main diving locations are the Catalina and Bat Islands.  Villa Buena Onda is conveniently located for diving as it lies between both these islands.  Common sightings on a dive in these locations are White Tip Sharks, Bull Sharks, Whales, Manta Rays, Octopi and many other fish.

- Rincon de La Vieja National Park

This National Park was created to protect the biodiversity around Rincon de la Vieja Volcano area. It extends over 14083 hectares of semi-deciduous forest and very moist forest and includes a barren rocky terrain at altitudes that range from 1950 feet to 5748 feet above the sea level on the Caribbean and Pacific sides of the Guanacaste Volcanic Mountain Range. Fumaroles, hot mud pools and the eerie steam holes of Las Pailas create an amazing landscape. The hiking tour takes about two hours. During this hiking you will get to see the secondary Waterfall, which is about 195 feet high and is located on a rocky terrain devastated by the volcanic eruptions.  This tour will last around 6 hours in total.

- Mud baths and hotsprings

Buena Vista is located nearby the Rincon de la Vieja National Park.  This tour is a 2 part tour with both natural volcanic mud packs and thermally heated hotsprings, also there is a 1200 ft. long water slide. Horseback ride to the thermal waters, steambath and natural spa, located at the foot of Rincon de la Vieja Volcano. Here, you will enjoy the rejuvenating treatments with volcanic mud and mineral waters.  Make sure you bring a camera as there is not better picture than a group of people with dirty faces!!

- Arenal Volcano

The perfectly cone shaped volcano raises 4.899 feet above the sea level. It has been active since 1968, when it made its largest eruption. Its loud rumblings and frequent explosions of lava and ash during the day create a show that will stun you from miles away.  You will leave VBO early in the morning and enjoy a 3 hour drive to volcano where you will explore the National Park at the foot of the volcano, relax in the thermally heated hotsprings and enjoy lunch and dinner with a view of the volcano.  This tour will get you back to the villa at around 11pm.

- Surfing

Costa Rica is world renown for having some of the finest breaks in the world.  Villa Buena Onda is only minutes from the boat that can take you to the world famous Witches Rock surf break (professionals only), but just in case you are learning there are many breaks close by.  Surf lessons are easily organized at Villa Buena Onda, just ask when you arrive.

- Liberia Shopping Tour

Liberia is Guanacaste’s main city (provincial capital) and it is an important area as it holds one of the Costa Rica’s International Airports and it’s a rapidly developing area. This tour is a perfect choice if all you want to do is enjoy a day of shopping at different stores that can be found in Liberia. You can also discover the history of this city visiting and getting to know one of the oldest houses and the church’s beautiful architecture. You can take the time you want to be able to buy what you need out of the wide variety of things and souvenirs you can take home.

- ATV Tours

From the beach to the mountains, on an ATV you can discover the best routes in Guanacaste that you never thought you’d see.  Explore the local beaches that some cars just cannot get to, or drive through the rainforest at 30mph, this tour is definitely for the thrill seeker.  Tours can last anything from 3-6 hours depending on how long you want to ride for, there is a minimum age limit on this tour.

- Nightlife: casino, bars, and restaurants are all nearby

Dowtown Coco offers a variety of restaurant options from seafood to Italian food, however the finest food in the area can be found right inside the Villa.  The town of Coco also offers 2 casinos with Black Jack, 3 card stud poker, craps and around 20 slot machines. The bars in Coco are a mixture of locals and tourists and the music variety is anything from Salsa to Dance music, you will find Coco to be a friendly town.
